Abstract

Safety valves.-A spring loaded safety valve has the valve seat provided with an outer recess in addition to the usual inner recess, both recesses being adapted to co-operate with overhanging'lips on the valve member. The seat member 6 has a flat closure surface A surrounded bv an annular recess B separated by a rib C from an outer recess D bounded by_a rib E. The valve member 7 has a closure surface F surrounded by lips G, H arranged in stepped formation and having the inner lip slightly concave to direct the escaping steam into the outer recess.
