Abstract

To overcome the problem of important notices being overlooked when displayed on vehicles, an illuminated display device comprises a housing attachable inside or outside the vehicle, at least one window in the housing and at least one panel visible through the window and bearing normally substantially invisible information. The information is rendered visible by illuminating means disposed behind the or each panel and actuated by push-buttons or a dial- type switch. The switch may be automatically operated when reversing the vehicle. The drive may have a repeater panel. An audible alarm may be included.
