Abstract

A torque transmission device comprises a rotatable housing containing pressure chambers in each of which a rotary vane is disposed, and serves to vary the rotary position of an output shaft relatively to the housing. Fluid under controlled pressure is fed to each pressure chamber (3) in the housing (1) between the chamber and the leading side of the rotary vane (4). The supply of fluid under pressure is influenced by throttles (16) and springs (6) urging the rotary vanes in the direction of rotation are disposed on the trailing side of each vane. Arcuate sealing gaps (18) are formed between the outer periphery (17) of the vanes and the inner circumferential surface of the chambers (3) and the exterior of the housing is provided with teeth (7) for engagement with a driving input member (8). The vanes are attached to an output shaft (10). <IMAGE>
