Abstract

A junction and distributor box for communication cables 11, 11', comprises a housing 1 containing terminal connector blocks 7 containing terminals of the insulation piercing type. Cables 11, 11' pass through sleeves in the housing capable of being cut to suit the cable size and are retained against withdrawal by means of tension springs 10 which engage with formations 8, 8' in the housing 1 to clamp against the outer surface of the cables 11, 11'. Earth wires and sheathing of the cables 11, 11' are located and earthed. The wires of the cables 11, 11' can be easily connected together merely by pressing them without any previous baring of the insulation into slots in the terminals mounted in the connector blocks 7. <IMAGE>
