Abstract
An orthopedic bandage based on a flexible carrier, a solid, water soluble, unsaturated monomer and a redox catalyst, has a surface layer of a poly(ethylene oxide) resin, which improves its tackiness, and thus its workability. Polymerization (and hence the setting of the bandage) is achieved by contact with water. Suitable monomers are diacetone acrylamide and N- isopropylacrylamide.
