Abstract

A fibrous board for a suspended ceiling comprises an effective amount of fibre which when subjected to fire conditions carbonize to form carbon fibres, so that the board is rendered sag-resistant. The carbon-precursor fibres may be of polyacrylonitrile, rayon, pitch or phenolic.
