Abstract

A container, for example for prepared meals, comprises a flanged open-topped body 1 divided by one or more internal webs 6a, 6b into compartments and a foil lid (7), Figures 2 and 3 (not shown) sealed to the marginal flange 4 of the body 1, the webs 6a, 6b progressively increasing in depth away from the flange 4 into which their ends merge so that their central portions lie above the level of the flange 4, the top edge of each web 6a, 6b having a convex curvature along its length to provide a tight join between the lid (7) and each web 6a, 6b over their entire length. Preferably the marginal flange 4 has a rolled edge (6), Figure 2 (not shown) and the webs 6a 6b have a circularly arcuate curvature. <IMAGE>
