Abstract

The head comprises a rotatingly driven part 12 which is supported in a stationary part 10. Delivery ducts 38 in the port 12 supply molten plastics material to an annular die passage 22 and are fed with the molten plastics from an annular groove 30 in the stationary port 10, which is open towards the rotating part 12 and around which material is disposed delivered from a supply duct 34 flows in a single direction corresponding to that of the rotating part 12. Air ducts 44, 48 for the supply and return of cooling air are provided for cooling the tubular film 60 and extend through the rotating part 12 and the stationary part 10. The required flow direction around the annular groove 30 can be effected by a constriction 56 on one side of the supply duct 34, and towards which the groove 30 is of a decreasing cross-section. The ducts 38 may open into an annular groove in the port 12. <IMAGE>
