Abstract
201,992. Clamp, R. E. May 3, 1922. Blotting-appliances.-In blotting-pads of the kind comprising two or more parts, one part forming the blotter and the other parts carrying reference matter or the like, the parts being relatively movable, but only to a limited extent, to expose the reference matter, the outer surface of the upper part 1 carries the blotter, and reference devices, such as maps, charts of statistics, lists of prices, or surfaces for written memoranda, are arranged on the other parts, and can be inspected by raising or moving the blotter. One, two, or more parts carrying maps &c. may be hinged to the part 1 by textile hinges or otherwise, or arranged to pull out from the sides of the part 1, and a map &c. may be placed on the underside of the part 1 and exposed tc view by raising the pad. Tapes 6 connecting the upper part 1 to the lower part 3 limit the relative movements of the parts, and pass through slots 5 in. one or more intermediate parts 4.
