Abstract

201,832. Dalton, C. F. Nov. 22, 1922. Foot-arch supports.-In a shoe of the kind having means secured to its inside adapted to effect a gripping action around the instep of the foot, whereby a tendency to flat-footedness is obviated, brace members 5 are disposed on either side of the foot between the upper 1 and the lining 2 or side stiffener 3. Each brace member comprises a strip of webbing doubled over to give a straight edge 6 and limbs a, b of unequal length. The ends of the braces are secured to the welt and the inner ends 6 project through slits 8 in the lining and have eyelets 7 through which the shoe lace is threaded to draw the two brace members together over the foot.
