Abstract

Apparatus for supplying magnetic toner (12) includes a hopper (10), a rotatable magnet toner transport roll (16) having a non-magnetic shell (18). A discharge port (14) is situated at the limit (A) of magnetic attraction by the roll (16). A non-magnetic guide surface (30) for the toner is, in projection, substantially perpendicular to a diametrical plane of the magnet roll (16). The apparatus reduces or avoids build up of toner on the shell (18). Other configurations of hopper and guide surface are disclosed. (Figures 5 to 7, not shown). <IMAGE>
