Abstract

A knitting machine selector mechanism, in particular, on large diameter circular knitting machines having rotary needle beds, a cam mechanism housed in cylinder cambox, and an electronic controlled selector mechanism; each needle preferably formed in two parts 2, 3 housed in the needle bed in a groove together with a selector slider 5 and a sinker 6; the selector slider having a resilient part 4 pivotally connected to it. Preferably, the resilient part 4 has at end opposite its connection to the slider a pivotal connection with the sinker 6, the resilient part 4 having a resilient portion between the two connections the connections being at joints which form supporting points, between which, in the cylinder cambox is fixed a swing cam; as shown the needle has a first or upper needle part 2 and a second or lower needle part 3, the latter being housed in a groove in the needle bed, above or adjacent the resilient part and selector slider, the second needle part having an upper butt to guide the sectional needle in a guiding duct and to co-operate with a clearing cam, and a lower butt to co-operate with central cam or sinker cam and a spur to co-operate with the bottom of the groove. <IMAGE>
