Abstract

A flemish eye splice (20) at one end of a length of rope (10) is secured a by means of a sleeve (15) placed around the rope (10) adjacent to the splice, a polymeric material or resin (24) being solidified in situ in the space between the internal wall of the sleeve and the rope (10) to produce a strong bond between portions of the rope and the sleeve without distorting the natural geometry of the rope. <IMAGE>
