Abstract

Gases are removed from liquids through a semipermeable membrane comprising a fluorinated polymer containing the substituent -SO3H or a salt thereof attached to fluorinated carbons, eg. a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and perfluoro (3,6-dioxa-4-methyl-7- octenesulphonyl fluoride) in which the sulphonyl fluoride group is hydrolysed - SO3H or a salt thereof.
