Abstract

A spring strip (1) for acting between a thrust element (5) of a parking brake facility in an internal expanding shoe brake assembly is of unsymmetrical construction with on end (9) of one arm (22) laterally spaced claws (26) for engaging shoulders on the thrust element (5), and on the end of a longer arm (21) projecting parts (13, 25) defining between them a channel for receiving a projection (7) of brake shoe (2). The thrust element passes between the claws (26) and through an aperture (24) defined by projecting part (25) and by an oppositely directed projecting part (17). The arms (21, 22) are bent back towards each other to form a restriction (27), and the arms are interconnected by an apex portion (23) of reduced width. <IMAGE>
