Abstract

A pressure-sensitive recording material which contains as colour former at least one fluoran derivative of the formula <IMAGE> in which R1 and R2, each independently of the other, are alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, halogenoalkyl, cyanoalkyl, alkoxy-alkyl, or benzyl, one of the radicals R1 and R2 is also hydrogen and each alkyl or alkoxy radical having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and X is a branched alkyl group having 3 to 12 carbon atoms and wherein the ring A is unsubstituted or substituted by nitro or halogen. This material yields copies of improved colour intensity and fastness to light.
