Abstract

A process for the manufacture of hexamethyldisilazane involves reaction of trimethylchlorosilane with gaseous ammonia in the presence of hexamethyldisilazane as solvent. The solid ammonium chloride formed during the reaction is separated from the hexamethyldisilazane by centrifugation.
