Abstract

A light diffusion element comprises a wax or polymer containing crystalline spherulites in which each spherulite has a concentric circular light-dark striped pattern structure, the stripes being repeated at intervals of 0.1 mu to 10 mu , preferably 0.3 to 5 mu . Such spherulites can be obtained by controlled cooling of the wax or polymer, a mixture of oligo-ethylene wax and ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer being exemplified.
