Abstract

A pin guide apparatus for guiding a relative movement between a first (13) and a second (11) member comprises at least one elongate pin (22) secured at one end to the first member (13) and extending in the direction in which the relative movement is to take place, a guide hole formed in the second member (11) to receive the guide pin (22) and a bushing (23) of resilient material and fixedly placed in the guide hole to receive therein the guide pin snugly and slidably. One end of the bushing (23) facing the free end of the guide pin (22) is closed and provided with an inwardly tapered vent hole (26), while the other end is formed integrally with a collapsible skirt (25) which is secured at free end around a foot portion of the guide pin. The apparatus may be employed in a disc brake where the first member (13) is a torque transmitting member and the second member (11) is one of the caliper members of the disc brake. <IMAGE>
