Abstract
A fluid pressure operated piezoelectric generator comprises at least one piezoelectric device 20, means e.g. a piston 16/18 for applying pressure to the or each piezoelectric device 20, and fluid directing means 4, 6, 8, 10 for directing the fluid to the piston(s) to cause pressure to be applied to the or each piezoelectric device. The device 6 shown is a fluidic oscillator, and it allows pressure to be applied alternately to the two piezoelectric devices 20. Pressure may be applied to the piezoelectric devices using bellows or diaphragms. A piezoelectric generator with a rectifying/smoothing unit for producing continuous current is described with reference to Fig. 2 (not shown). <IMAGE>
