Abstract

The system enables an emergency signal to be either transmitted from the vehicle at will or automatically for reception by the roadside equipment, or for emergency or traffic information to be transmitted to the vehicle to automatically override a communication currently being transmitted or received by the vehicle-borne installation, or for two way communication, at least the vehicle-borne equipment being automatically tunable to a particular channel or signal.
