Abstract

A press for the production of plate- like parts, particularly sheet-form piece parts, comprises a piercing tool (6) and a separating shears (14) mounted on the same machine body. The tool (6) and shears (14) are arranged to be selectively coupled to one common drive system (20, 20a, 21) powered from a single main motor. A power-driven swivel linkage (22, 23, 24, 25) effects the alternative connection. The shears (14) preferably comprises an upper double- sided slitting blade and a lower blade formed as a slotted die. Both the blades can be rotated and held in a synchronised angular position by the use of latches. <IMAGE>
