Abstract

A hose coupling for tractor-trailer braking systems which produces sealed hydraulic connections even in high pressure circuits, with minimum fluid loss on coupling and de-coupling. The coupling comprises male 50 and female 10 members which when brought together displace a sleeve 24 along the spigot portion 18 of the female member 10 and simultaneously displace a plug 66 along the bore of the male member 50 to uncover sets of radial ports communicating respectively with supply and return passages to establish hydraulic flow and return paths through the coupling. Ball detents 40 lock the spigot 18 and plug 66 via a sleeve 26 and the ball detents 44 in a lock sleeve 48 lock together the male 50 and female 10 members. <IMAGE>
