Abstract

The monitoring device incorporates detecting means (1,3 to 6) for emitting an electrical signal proportional to the variable quantity to be monitored. Differentiating means (10) are provided to determine the time derivative of this signal and adding means (7) are provided for adding this signal to a further electrical signal proportional to the time derivative. Such a device may be used to compensate for a time delay, for example an exponential time delay, in a measuring chain, such as for example the delays occurring in the case of pressure transmission in long capillary tubes having diaphragms. An alteration in the monitored quantity is thus very quickly indicated. The device appears to be particularly suitable for measuring pressure in hot liquid metal installations. <IMAGE>
