Abstract

The present invention relates to a device for securing a life raft to a ship and including a hydrostatic release relay for releasing the life raft when the water pressure on the securing means exceeds a preset level. The securing device comprises a socket 6 for mounting on a ship and having a hemispherical head 12 including the coupling means, balls 14, of the hydrostatic release relay which is adapted to be operated at a preset hydrostatic pressure, and retaining means 18 for attachment to a tape retaining the life raft and comprising a recess 17 in which the coupling head 12 is received, the recess 17 merging with a skirt 20 resting on the socket, and being provided with an annular recess 16 which is engaged by the balls 14. <IMAGE>
