Abstract

An illuminated signal employing light conducting fibres has, between a transparent front pane and a holder for the ends of the fibres, a web with opaque walls perpendicular to the pane and surrounding each desired symbol. The arrangement is such that a symbol is displayed by turning off the light to the fibres associated with the symbol, and turning on the light to the fibres which surround it. <IMAGE>
