Abstract

A band-clamp comprises a flexible band 1 the ends of which are adapted to be drawn together by a bolt 5 so that the band may exert a radial compressive force on a pipe or the like encircled by the band. Where hitherto lugs have been provided by turning the ends of the band back at 90 DEG which frequently results in a distortion of the band at its ends, the invention provides that at at least one end of the band the lug means 2 are adapted to contact the bolt at spaced locations along its length so as to use the rigidity of the bolt to prevent distortion of the lugs under tension. <IMAGE>
