Abstract

The valve has a closure device 27 spring urged towards an annular seat 14. A peripheral extension 47 of the central thrust surface 34 is provided so that, as soon as the closure device 27 moves away from the seat due to excess pressure at inlet 15, the pressure acts on the peripheral extension 47 to accelerate the opening movement. Thus, a high gas flow rate is obtained almost instantaneously. The closure device is guided by columns 21 and is provided with a valve 35 for relieving under pressure in the inlet 15. <IMAGE>
