Abstract

200,220. Mitchell, G. T. April 11, 1922. Ball mills.-The grinding-plates of a tubular ball mill for grinding cement, clinker, &c. are provided with a recess or groove A of curved shape near the rear edge of the plate, and extending along the plate to near both ends, the groove being semi-circular in section with rounded edges as shown in Fig. 1, or having its front edge tapering off in depth so that the groove is deepest at the back and shallow towards the front of the plate as shown in Fig. 3. The front part of the plate B is thickened to increase its strength.
