Abstract

A brake disc for a disc brake, comprising a pair of coaxial parallel spaced annular plates connected by a plurality of circumferentially spaced blades, one of the plates 14 being provided with means 54 for securing it to a hub portion of a vehicle wheel and being formed of metal that is of thinner gauge than that of the other plate 16 by an amount sufficient to provide both plates with substantially the same heat capacity. By suitable choice of the thickness of the two plates their heat capacities, and hence their working temperatures in use, can be made equal. In this way uniform wear of the friction pads engaging the two plates can be obtained. <IMAGE>
