Abstract

An adaptor assembly for connecting a syringe to a catheter comprises a bored body 26, a bored compressible plug 40, and a compression member 46. The plug bore receives the catheter through an opening 30 in the body. The compression member has a nipple 48 receivable in the proximal end of the bore in the body, and a port 56 to receive the syringe tip. The compression member is releasably attached to the body to cause the nipple to bear against the plug and compress it to secure the catheter in position, while the syringe may be attached to the compression member by insertion of its tip into the port. <IMAGE>
