Abstract

A compressed and sintered metal powder product comprises a nickel or cobalt based superalloy in the range from 30 to 60% by weight, the balance consisting of a metal carbide. The metal powder product has particular applications as a cutting element and as the tip of a cutting tool for cutting steel rod or tube on a lathe.
