Blowpipe burners.-In an oxy-acetylene or like blowpipe burner the acetylene passes from an annular conduit g into a. conical chamber e surrounding the oxygen nozzle c through a number of passages h arranged approximately tangentially to the entrance of the chamber e. A swirling motion is thereby imparted to the acetylene, causing it to form an intimate mixture with the oxygen in a conical passage k leading to the burner tip.
