Abstract

Rails, metallic builtup; rails, reversible.- A tram rail consists of a base rail a with a flange a<1> having a head a<2> engaging a groove in a single or multiplegrooved 'tread rail c which may rest on shock-absorbing maberial b and is secured by one or more wedge blocks h having a bead h<1> entering a groove on that side of the rail. The blocks are adjusted by a bolt i and are seated in boxes d secured to the base rail and provided with a cover. The blocks are rabbeted to receive longitudinal relieving strips g. According to the Provisional Specification the tread rail is secured by clamps bolted to the base rail.
