Straight tubes passing through helical baffles; partitions with holes of larger size than tubes.- Where straight tubes 8 pass through transverse baffles 13 whether plane or helical in a casing the holes are made of larger size than the tubes and are flanged as at 16. The flange may be at rightangles to the plate 13 or may be of such shape as to give a passage 17 of venturi-form. Specification 142,715 is referred to.
