Abstract

196,490. Myddelton, R. F. May 11, 1922. Sieves and screens, forms and construction of.- A sieve for eliminating stalk and the like from tea consists of a plate a corrugated to form longitudinal channels b in which are dispensed transverse ridges c and holes d facing the ridges, the walls of the channel being contracted at the holes in order to guide the stalks and midribs therethrough, leaving the forked stalks and large particles of tea in the sieve. In a modification, the spaces between the ridges and holes may be varied. The sieve, may be used in conjunction with a sieve as described in Specification 181,941.
