Abstract

195,934. Hill Engineering Co., Inc., (Assignees of Hill, M. F.). April 10, 1922, (Convention date]. Force-feed lubricating for rotary compressors of the type comprising an annular lobed rotor 4 with an inner eccentrically-mounted pinion rotor 7 having one lobe less. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises arrangements for circulating, under the delivery pressure, oil from a reservoir 28 to a port 32 in the side wall of the casing to lubricate and seal the rotating elements, excess oil being removed from the gas in a separator 51. Oil is also supplied under pressure by a pipe 53 to a groove 43 on the flanged driving disc to prevent escape of gas such as sulphur dioxide &c. when used with refrigerating systems. A concentric inner groove 14 is connected to the inlet side of the compressor to prevent escape of oil through the shaft bearing. The oil may pass through a cooler through which air is driven by a fan on the other end of the motor shaft. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
