Abstract

194,431. Roberts, A. H., and Willmot, A. S. Dec. 19, 1921. Date and fine printing. - An apparatus for stamping the time on cards, tickets, &c., operated by electric impulses transmitted from a master clock, comprises an electromagnet 1 electrically connected to the master clock and energized at prearranged intervals and provided with an armature 2 carrying a pawl 4 adapted to actuate a ratchet wheel of a gear train 3, 3A, and 5 adapted to close the circuits of auxiliary electromagnets 13, 13A and 13H arranged to actuate step-by-step timetype wheels 18, 18A. and 13B. The completion of the circuit is effected by pins 7 and 9 on the gear wheel 3 and a pin 11 on they wheel 5, which are arranged to make contact with projections on contact springs 8, 8 and 10, and 12 respectively. A single auxiliary electromagnet may be employed to operate the units wheel of a recording counting-mechanism. To record the time on a card or chart 21, an ink-ribbon 22 is pressed against the type-wheels by a rubber-covered platen actuated by a cam-lever or other operating means.
