Junction-pieces; plates, jointing pipes to; with valves and cocks.-A valve device of the type in which a hollow perforated screwed plug 8 is moved into a chamber 1, to permit fluid to flow, by the act of screwing the main valve into position, has the aperture in the bottom of the chamber through which the plug is inserted provided with a reducing nipple 4 so as to necessitate only a small hole in the container or supply main. The screwed inlet of the main valve casing 10 has projections 11 adapted to engage recesses in the plug 12 so that as the main valve is screwed into the neck 2 the closure surfaces 8, 9 are separated and the apertures 7 exposed.
