Abstract

192,908. Seay, A. Jan. 27, 1922. Secrew propellers.-In screw propellers of the kind in which main blades connect a central boss and an outer sleeve and minor blades project out from the sleeve, gills or fins are provided on the sleeve intermediate, the minor blades and adjacent slots or openings in the sleeve. The sleeve tapers rearwardly and the blades also taper and extend beyond the rear end of the sleeve. Main blades 2 and minor blades 3, Fig. 1, project from a tapering sleeve 1. On one side of slots 4 in the sleeve 1 are provided fins 5 which taper like the sleeve.
