Abstract
18,088. Robinson, S. J. Dec. 28. Spray carburettors.-The carburettor casing E is fitted at its lower end with a fixed liner F, in which slides a suction-actuated choke-tube J surrounding the nozzle A. The choke-tube has a conical interior and a cylindrical exterior and has a number of ports cut through its walls; it is guided at its upper end by a throat f of the liner F and, at its lower end, by a flange K. A spring L tends to keep the liner in its lowest position against a sprung-in ring N. In a modification, the spring is above the choke-tube and may be manually adjustable. As the choke-tube is raised by suction, the passage at the nozzle increases, and an increased flow of air takes place through the ports above the throat f. The casing E may be horizontal and the nozzle A vertical, the choke-tube being slotted to pass over the nozzle.
