Abstract

11,046. Taylor, S. M. July 30. Buttons.-In a button in which the pull on the staple-like shank comes on the back shell of the button, the ends of the staple-like shank are so shaped that a pull does not fall on the marginal parts of the holes in the back shell. The button comprises a front shell a, Fig. 1, back shell b, and shank c, the ends of the shank being formed as hooks c<2> bearing on the shell b away from the holes through which the shank passes. In another form, Fig. 3, the shank ends are formed either as horizontal eyes c<2> or vertical eyes lying in the plane of the shank. In a further form, Fig. 5, the shank is formed with eyes c<2> through which a curved wire d bearing on the shell b passes. In another form, Fig. 7, the ends of the shank are provided with knobs.
