Abstract

4404. Brotchie, W., [trading as Brotchie, J. R.]. March 20. Printing - surfaces.- Mounting - blocks for carrying stereo, electro, or other printing-plates, and provided with spring catches such as are described in Specification 4405/15, comprise a plate-supporting bed 1 for two plates equipped with side stops 2, an interchangeable mid-abutment 3, and movable spring catches 4 at each end controlled by springs 7 mounted on adjustable bolts 6. The mid-abutments 3 and the catches 4 are grooved to engage the bevelled edges of the plates. To remove the plates, the end catches 4 are freed from the bed 1 by wedge-shaped tools, as described in the above-mentioned Specification.
