Blades.-The blades a of turbines, turbocompressors, &c. are slotted at the tips to form two tongues, either or both of which may be passed through holes in the shrouding h and then bent over, and the shrouding h, which is thus held in place, is formed with one or two ribs r and a packing- surface h<1> which coacts with the serrated or smooth surface k<1> of a packing-ring k held in the rotor or stator groove. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 7184/01 and 9845/04.
