Abstract

23,103. Mycroft, W. Nov. 26. Catamenial appliances.-A catamenial appliance comprises a tubular fabric cover B, Fig. 1, filled with cotton-wool in the form of separate slivers A laid side by side to form a bunch or faggot. The slivers may be treated with powdered chalk to prevent matting together and with an antiseptic powder. In a modification, a layer of non-absorbent cotton or other fluid-proof material may be placed at the lower side of the absorbent pad, or, as shown in Fig. 3, a layer of absorbent wool D and a non- absorbent layer C may be added.
