Abstract

19,397. Caddy, S. C. Sept. 3. Tent-pegs and tethering-pegs.-The body portion a carries a central stem b provided with a pair of pivoted flukes c and having its movements limited by means of a pin and slot d, c. The stem is retained in its raised position, for driving the peg into the ground, by a rotatable head h having feathers f which can be made to rest on the upper part of the peg. The stem is then released by rotating the head h and is driven downwards, thereby causing the flukes c to be protruded as shown in Fig. 3.
