Abstract

17,329. Berry, A. F. July 21. Resistances for heating. A resistance with turns or parts spaced to produce uniform heating, as described for instance in Specification 4672/09, is provided between the turns or parts with one or more lengths of metal which transmits heat to the casing. In the hot-plate shown, a resistance strip a is wound with an insulated metal strip b and the coil embedded in insulating-material o such as asbestos cement. The strip b may be connected in series with the resistance. Two or more such heaters may be arranged on opposite sides of a heat-equalizing plate of the kind described in Specification 18,115/10.
