14,071. Ruscoe, E. June 11. Catches, spring; screw fastenings.-A spring catch f, mounted on the parting bead e, is adapted to engage recesses in a plate c<1> secured to the upper sash. In order to lower the sash, the catch is released by means of a plate h hinged to the back of the plate c', said plate h being forced against the catch by means of a thumb-screw g carried by the lower sash and passing through an aperture J in the plate c'. The sashes are fastened, when closed, by the screw g entering a hole k in a plate fixed to the upper sash.
