Abstract
5102. Boyton, A. J. H. Feb. 27. Couplings, non-automatic.-The pin B of a D-shackle for colliery trams is prevented from rising through the eye in the lower limb of the D by the provision of a plate C formed with an oblique slot by which it is mounted on a cross-pin D in the forked lower end of the pin B. The position of the slot is such that the plate takes a position out of line with the pin when inverted, as shown in Fig. 2. It may be locked in this position by a split pin or bolt.
