28,297. Ley, S. Dec. 8. Gas hand-irons.-A solid iron b is arranged to rest on the bottom plate of a casing a, which is provided with a ribbed shell c forming a tortuous flue surrounding the iron. The rear end c' is hinged or otherwise connected to allow the insertion of the iron. The waste gases from the burner pass into a tube h immersed in water or a chemical in the chamber c, where they are partly absorbed, and escape by an opening i<1>. A second burner may be provided when extra heat is desired.
